Perhaps a sign of things to come in 2012 - we can only hope - the Brownlee brothers completed another family one-two at the Daleside Brewery Auld Lang Syne Fell Race yesterday, to close out their 2011 racing and usher in the Olympic year.

The event is approx 6-miles in length, incorporating around 900ft of climbing, based at Penistone Hill Country Park, near Haworth, Keighley and is a regular haunt of the triathlon specialists.

Last year Jonathan was second to Andi Jones, and was second again in the 2011 edition, this time to older brother Alistair who added to his previous event wins here in 2007 and 2009 and a second place in 2008.

Following their Christmas racing exploits reported previously, it would seem that the favourites for Olympic Triathlon medals in August are starting the new year just where they would hope to be. Fingers crossed for an injury-free winter.
