After success last weekend in Chile, several of the British World Class Development squad were in Argentina yesterday for the La Paz ITU Triathlon Pan American Cup, as part of their South American tour. Next week, Honduras...

After finishing second last weekend, no such luck this time for Abbie Thorrington who was a DNF - the sole British lady racing - in an event dominated by an Italian podium sweep, headed by Charlotte Bonin.

There was also an Italian winner for the men, Alessandro Fabian taking top spot on the podium from British Tri Gold athlete Adam Bowden, a big improvement on his ninth place last week. Marc Jenkins was fourth - we will update you on the other British athletes as more information and full results become available.

Conditions were shocking for the men, with T2 literally under water judging by these pictures, and indeed the nine lap bike course was shortened to just six laps with water of 10 inches in places on the course making simply riding difficult, and claiming several crash victims.
