In her first race since her stunning World Record at Challenge Roth in July, Chrissie Wellington continued her winning ways at the half distance with a 14+ minutes margin of victory at the Ironman 70.3 Timberman, winning the title for the third season in a row. Her time of 4:10:11 was good enough for the 10th fastest pro performance, 11th overall (incl age groupers).

At one time her weakness - and we are talking relative terms here - Chrissie lead out of the swim, her 25:40 comparing very favorably with the 22:43 of male winner, and renowned swimming 'fish' Andy Potts. That would suggest Miss Wellington could be hitting the lead even earlier come Kona this October...a very impressive sign. While Angela Neath (CAN) rode a few seconds faster than Chrissie, a five minute swim deficit was soon tripled with Wellington running a 1:19:06 half marathon. Considering that the fastest male time was 1:15:55 from second placed Raynard Tissink, another wonderful effort.

Like Chrissie, men's winner Andy Potts (USA) had a gun-to-tape win, also for a third straight Timberman title.
