Following up just hours after Jodie Swallow won the ITU World Long Distance Triathlon Championship, Julie Dibens has added her third consecutive XTERRA off-road triathlon world title - the first athlete to achieve that feat. She exited the swim around 30 seconds back on swim specialist Chrisine Jeffrey, but soon after she hit the front on the bike and never looked back, finishing over seven minutes clear. More good news behind too, as US-based Lesley Patterson from Scotland took second place ahead of former multiple XTERRA champ Melanie McQuaid.

Spain's Eneko Llanos recovered from a disappointing Ironman World Championship two weeks ago to add another XTERRA championship to those he won in 2002 and 2003. He also won the Hawaiian Airlines 'double', for the best combined Kona+Maui times.

  Men Women
1st Eneko Llanos (ESP) 2:37:22 Julie Dibens (GBR) 2:56:42
2nd Nicolas Lebrun (FRA) 2:38:17 Lesley Patterson (GBR) 3:04:16
3rd Michael Weiss (AUT) 2:40:24 Melanie McQuaid (USA) 3:05:46
