Following on from the success of the Dambuster triathlon in June 2007 and further negotiations with the venue hosts, Pace Setter Events are pleased to announce that agreement has now been reached which will allow the number of competitors in the Vitruvian Triathlon to increase from 800 to a new record field of 900.

Mark Shaw, Race Director said; “We are exceedingly pleased that Anglian Water has agreed to extend the size of the field. The number of competitors has been closely monitored by both ourselves, Anglian Water, who own the host venue and the relevant authorities to ensure that the ongoing increase in the number of competitors does not impact on the health and safety at the venue or cause any undue disruption to the highways and roads used around the Rutland Water course.”

“In addition we are aware that the increase in both the size of the field and the quality of the athletes who are racing has a bearing on the ability to ensure a draft free event which is a very important aspect of our races and we are confident that this can still be maintained.”

All parties are now confident that an increase in numbers will only benefit the event which hosts the BTF middle distance championships in 2007. Applications for the 100 additional places in the Vitruvian can be accessed online at
