Emma Pooley took the ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, gave it a damn good shake and sliced 16 minutes off Karin Thürig's 2002 course record. Sweden's Eva Nyström was 32 minutes off the pace and Laura Hrebec (SUI) was another 90 seconds back.

Gaël Le Bellec (FRA), another Zofingen first-timer like Pooley, took four minutes out of his compatriot Yannick Cadalen and another 90 seconds ahead of third placed Søren Bystrup (DEN). GB duathlete Matt Moorhouse placed sixth and the full elite results are online HERE.

Pos Male Female
1 Gaël Le Bellec (FRA) 6:21.47 Emma Pooley (GBR) 6:47.27
2 Yannick Cadalen (FRA) 6:26:05 Eva Nyström (SWE) 7:19.17
3 Søren Bystrup (DEN) 6:27.44 Laura Hrebec (SUI) 7:20.52

The GB age group contingent did a fine job as well with an overall win for Julian Lings in the 25-29 category and a total of six gold and silvers across the categories. Full age group results are HERE.

Gold: Julian Lings (25-29), Angela McGurk (30-34) and Christopher Dettmar (40-44)
