Challenge Laguna Phuket is described as having taken place in "perfect tropical race conditions" -- all I can say is it clearly wasn't taking place at either of the two events I was at this weekend... Two consecutive mornings setting up at dawn in Royal Parks and it was more like a foretaste of another Siberian Winter! Deserved congratulations to Dr T on her second weekend of podium placing but, please, squeeze a little bit of that warmth and sunshine in a case for us when you head back here to the UK.

The same request goes out to Rachel Joyce who topped the podium in Sunday's Ironman Cozumel with a near nine minute cushion back to Jessie Donavan. Tim Hancock was the best placed GB male in 21st, looks like Ritchie Nicholls and Craig Twigg were no-shows.

The event was an adjusted format, with the swim shortened to a 3.1km 'with the current', point-to-point swim due to sea conditions.

Pos Male Female
1 Michael Weiss (AUT) 7:55:23 Rachel Joyce (GBR) 8:52:28
2 Tyler Butterfield (BER) 8:02:42 Jessie Donavan (USA) 9:01:12
3 Eneko Llanos (ESP) 8:05:42 Amanda Stevens (USA) 9:06:40

Provisional results from the Rempstone Roast MTB Duathlon show that Greg Shrosbree had the advantage of youth and held off old-campaigner Jez Cox for victory with Helen Dyke having a much clearer margin in the women's race. Results are HERE.

At the Black Country Triathletes Splash & Dash aquathlon Steve Brookes (BCT) and Jodie Stimpson (Oldbury Swimming & Triathlon) took the wins - Jodie was second placed overall by a mere four seconds! Full results on StuWeb HERE.

Results for the Gravesend Pre-Christmas Duathlon are promised for later this morning, we'll add them to the system as soon as we have them.
