Sweden's Eva Nyström (www.evanystrom.com) is the reigning ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Champion, won last year at the legendary Powerman Zofingen, a race she had finished second at three times previously. In earning that World Championship title, Eva got the better of Silver medal winner, Great Britain's 'Duracell Bunny' Lucy Gossage.

The two went head-to-head once again this past weekend at the ETU Powerman Long Distance European Championships in Horst, and this time - as in 2012 - it was Gold for Lucy and Silver for Eva. Of the rivalry, Lucy says "I love racing Eva! We are so closely matched, and when we race we seem to bring the best out of each other. It's always a really fair race - she is such a strong biker, it really pushes me."

A strong biker indeed, Eva recording the fastest bike split of the day in Horst aan de Maas to catch up to Lucy during the ride after losing 37 seconds on the opening run. "I knew she would catch me on the bike" Lucy told me after the race, fully aware of the Swede's strength on two wheels.

After the race I took a closer look at Eva's ride, the Specialized S-Works Shiv Tri.

Though second again in Horst to Lucy Gossage, Eva can rightly look happy after the race having beaten her 2012 time over the same course by almost six minutes.

Eva rides the Specialized Shiv Tri (size XS), the bike launched just prior to Kona 2011 - which Craig Alexander then went and won his third Ironman World Championship riding. The bike is sponsored through Eva's team, Tri Nordic, the Scandinavia-based set up of Rasmus Henning. Henning of course rode the Shiv Tri himself as a Specialized sponsored athlete in the later years of his career, including his big win at the 2012 Abu Dhabi International Triathlon.

Eva's frame carries the rainbow stripes of World Champion; "blame my husband for those" she joked, "he put them on!"

Eva rode a Lightweight disc wheel with Scwalbe Ultremo HT tubular tyre. The rear mech is a SRAM Red with a rather bling KMC gold chain. The front wheel is a Zipp 404 Firecrest with Continental Competition tubular.

Look Keo Carbon pedals attach to the Specialized S-Works FACT carbon crankset which is standard issue on this S-Works edition. The TT chainrings are standard 53/39 tooth, and there is also a Ceramic Speed bottom bracket.

Specialized TTS saddle has additional padding in the nose of the saddle to help comfort while riding in the aero position. The saddle has clearly been pushed very far forward on the rails.
