When you've got the option of drooling over carbon, titanium and electronic gears.. we'll admit, choosing a new bag isn't especially 'sexy'. That said, while you can race without the latest carbon frame you are going to need a bag to transport all of that triathlon racing and training gear around...

Having looked at the Polaris Aquanought yesterday, here is another offering - the Amphibia Bag.

Amphibia Bag

Features and Benefits:

  • 100% waterproof expandable pouch - keeps your wet/sweaty/dirty gear separate from dry gear.
  • Fold-out changing mat - perfect for wet/rough surfaces when getting changed.
  • Water resistant outer material deflects rain/dirt.
  • Fully functional size for sport - packs in all your gear but is compact & convenient.
  • Plenty of pockets to keep your stuff in, including zip, mesh and waterproof pockets.
  • Great size for travel and other pursuits. Airline carry-on approved.

The Amphibia bag is firmly going down the retro holdall road. Coming in a very classic brown or a stunning red, either colour is going to be great for the style conscious offering ample space for all manner of gym kit.

The bags also offer great functionality for use in transition. The waterproof outer shell should keep kit dry for you should race day be less than perfect weather wise.

Another feature of the bag is the removable mat which is great for transition or just for getting changed on wet floors. It is nicely padded foam that will keep feet comfortable on rough surfaces. This is removable if you don't need it all the time but does not interfere with everyday use.

Internally the opening to the bag is large and allows fast access to items inside, in fact it opens all the way round in a big 'C' shape which is a nice touch.  Another large zip on the side allows the user to store wet items in a separate waterproof pouch with a vent. When not being used, before your swim it sits out of the way with the main compartment being fully useable. After your swim you can then fill the pouch with remaining items keeping dry. Additionally there are other pockets for keeping items organised.

Another well thought out feature is the actual size, it should be perfect on flights as carry on luggage offering more use than just a gym bag. The changing mat as I mentioned is removable should you not need it on all occasions.

I like products like this as they quietly get on with things; it is an honest, decent bag with a few options for transition use. Just right for taking gym kit to work in and it's not cumbersome on the commute. And pretty cool looking too.

Priced around the £40 mark it is a decent solution to gym kit transportation.
