Paratriathlete Jane Egan has a quite amazing story. The current European and World Champion in the Tri-1 category went in for achilles surgery four years ago, at that time, a fully healthy, fit and active individual. From then however, complications and side effects of surgery have left her with multiple neurological conditions caused by trauma to the nervous system.

Annie Emmerson sat down with Jane at the Triathlon Show earlier this month to find out more about her background, her Triathlon career, and just how the role sport has played an important part in her physical and mental recovery from such a life-changing event. Watch, and be inspired.

(You can check out our full archive of video coverage from the Triathlon Show this year - and every year since 2007 (!) - via THIS LINK).

Jane is supporting the 2012 Tri Together Triathlon organised by Leonard Cheshire. We have a dedicated section for the event HERE.

Find out more about the award winning Tri Together Triathlon here: which takes place on Sunday 12th August this year.
