While the UK triathlon season may be a few months off yet, the past weekend was for almost all of the country County Cross Country Championships weekend, and we spotted a few triathletes amongst the medals and mud.

The Brownlee brothers are arguably the biggest names in multisport right now, and Jonathan was the defending champion at the Yorkshire Championships on Saturday. However, just like the Auld Lang Syne last week, it was Alistair who took the honours this time - despite a pretty tough battle over the final mile, Alistair reaching the line four seconds clear of Jonathan - with both over a minute clear of third placed Jorge Thomas. Full results HERE.

At the Middlesex Championships, the Under-17 title was won by first year triathlon junior Sky Draper, who finished ahead of the Under-20 winner too. After the bike crashes and injury that impacted her 2011 triathlon season, this is hopefully an encouraging sign that her running legs are back for the 2012 triathlon season. Full results HERE.

There was another 'triathlon' winner at the Warwickshire Championships, where Danielle Stewart - winner at the European Age Group Triathlon Champs last season in Pontevedra - took the county title.

The Worcestershire Championships saw Powerman Duathlon regular Michelle Parsons take the bronze medal. Full results HERE.

In the Gloucestershire Champs, duathlon specialist David Roper, a former European & World Age Group Champion took the bronze medal. Full results HERE.

At the Leicestershire Champs the Senior Ladies Champion was Leicester Tri Club's Nicola Roder (she's also the World Biathle Champion) with clubmate Jo Toon taking the bronze. Silver medal in the U20 went to another Leicester Tri Club member, Jake Harrison while in the Male Vet category Duncan Shea-Simonds picked up bronze. The club also picked up the team gold by a significant margin thanks to Claire Shea-Simonds' fourth place in the senior women's event. (Thanks to David Gorley and Claire Shea-Simonds for the update.)

Kent also saw triathletes in action, at their championships Kate Curran was third in the Under 17 category. Kate races for Bike Science and finished fifth in last year's SuperSeries as well as being a member of the GB Junior European Youth Relay team that won the Silver medal in Tours in August. Full results are HERE.

Also brought to our attention - thank you Twitter (!) - Sophie Couldwell was the U20 winner in the Nottinghamshire Champs, Ellie White the U13 girls champion while Xavi Salcedo - son of Dan we believe - was the U11 boys winner.

Have we missed any other 'triathlon' County XC medal winners? If so, do let us know via editor@tri247.com and we'll add them to the listing.
