Our pre-race Ironman Switzerland preview read "Ronnie Schildknect is racing and having won the past four editions will be expected to make it five. Last year Karen Thürig came within seconds of an 8:XX finish and the Kona bike course record holder will be favourite to repeat that win again."

And short report, is that it was indeed a Swiss double from Ronnie and Karin to repeat the 2010 top spots. Ronnie makes it five straight in Zurich, joining a small number of men to have won the same Ironman race five consecutive times.

Thürig produced her usual swift bike split to overcome her sluggish swim, than added to that a not too shabby 3:06 marathon for an eight minute margin over Amy Marsh. Just a week after a sub-9 finish for second place at Ironman Austria, Erika Csomor backed up with another podium spot in third.
