Martin Boddie reports from the Mazda Stockholm Triathlon, which in only two years has quickly developed into a fantastic event.

As Official Travel Partners to IMG, Sports Tours International ( took a group of competitors and supporters from GB over to take part in the second edition of the Mazda Stockholm Triathlon at the weekend.

It was a great race with everyone getting round and really enjoying the event which took place on a very scenic course. There was some wind on the bike which made it a true test for everyone. The location for a race is amazing, right in the centre of one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities and the weather was beautiful and sunny, really showing off Stockholm in its best light.

The bike course took place on beautiful smooth closed roads following some of the main boulevards through the Swedish Capital and along the gorgeous water front. Meanwhile the run took place in the beautiful grounds of the Royal Djurgården Park. The event continues to grow each year with 1,300 competitors competing in 2009 and more and more Brits taking part, it is fast becoming one of the ‘must do’ races on the International triathlon calendar.
