Not even the weather can stop it now. The Second Warwick Triathlon this year has proved that is unstoppable on its way to becoming the biggest and most successful pool based Triathlon in the country.

As the competitors arrived on time and the Video briefing was beamed to all inside the Warwick School Gymnasium, the fog hung around the course threatening to call it all off. The event finally started 1 hour 45 minutes late, with some swim changes sorted at last minute for the competitors who had to meet their Sunday plans. All were kept well informed along the way and the event warmed everyone up very quickly. The Super Sprint went off first around this safe and very fast course. The honours going to Matthew Dove with a time of 33:16 for the open/junior male and the open/veteran female title went to his mum Nicki Dove.

The Sprint was up next and due to the weather MIG mad the course more compact to allow for two laps of the super sprint bike course, it was the only way to do it and it worked wonderfully. The overall Fastest was Andrew Shipton in a time of 53:58 and the veteran title went to Steven Wigglesworth with a time of 56:12 the fastest female being Katie silke with 1:05:03. The relay title went to Melanie Easter (visually impaired) – Swim, Colin styles (visually impaired) guided by Dave – Cycle, and Steve Kerwood - Run. After the Sprint came the wonderful efforts of the Tri Stars. It wasn't just about the event this year, it was about the supporting families and great atmosphere. TriStar Start was won by Jack Mitchell, TriStar 1 by Jed Boffey, with James Babington getting TriStar 2 and Aron Wilkinson taking the honours in TriStar 3. A big well done has to go to Ella Stewart who showed true true sporting spirit by crossing the line even though she suffered exhaustion, well done you.

The Warwick Triathlon has landed and will double again next year. The first event will be in May and the date will be out soon. There is one thing for certain now, MIG and The Warwick Triathlon are providing the top class event that everyone is searching for.
