Why One Step Beyond? Have a read of this, see if you share our passion and vision for multi-sport and then make your decision…

As the only official event partner of the National Governing Body we will be using 2010 to further enhance the sport of triathlon. Our key vision is to:

“Offer attractive and exciting multi-sport opportunities throughout the UK, using projects such as the Corus Kid’s of Steel series and the National Paratriathlon Championships to ensure that the sport of triathlon is available to all. We will achieve this by ensuring that our portfolio of events is balanced, inclusive and most importantly of a premier standard”.

Since organising our first event in 1991 we have been passionate about multisport & running events, now in our 19th year our values are still the same – organise safe, fun and competitive events that we would like to participate in ourselves. As a full time professional event management company, we are able to provide first class customer service throughout the year.

In 2010, we expect over 20,000 people to take part in one of our 30 events. 12 of these will be ‘house’ events, the balance will be organised under our ‘Event in a Box’ consultancy service. We will be organising the 3rd British Paratriathlon Championships, the British Duathlon & Relay Championships, World & European Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon qualifying events as well as a pool sprint series which attracts over 500 first timers into triathlon.

OK, so that’s enough about what we believe in and what we are trying to achieve this year. Let’s get down to the reality of why so many people choose us? We like to think that it is the attention to detail. Obviously, the ease of entry helps, either online or offline. A lot of what is different about our events you may not even notice, you will be greeted when parking your vehicle and then directed by friendly and knowledge volunteers in registration. We have a dedicated group of volunteers that contains over 100 people, some that have been volunteering for over 15 years.

What you should notice is the secure transition areas, high quality professional event signage, security wristbands for all athletes and event staff, swim hats, manned drink stations on course and at the finish. From your feedback, you told us how important it is that your event shirt fits you, so we supply shirts for both men and women in your size. If you look closely you will also see our key officials with professional communications, paramedics’ onsite and on course, motorbike referees on the bike course and if you have been unlucky, then you might have got a lift in our sweeper vehicle on course to collects all of those unfortunates. We could go on, but don’t want to give all of our secrets away.

What about you, so you have decided, after hours of searching to commit yourself to an event. Ahead of you are months, weeks or maybe just days of training. So, it is important too, that we the event organisers also spend, months, weeks and days of organising an event that we would wish to race in. Don’t be fooled by marketing, fancy websites, lovely images and guarantees of a professionally organised event. Not all are the same, beware!!!

We have been competing in triathlons since 1985 and believe in setting the standards, not following them but our name gives that away. Our new online system is just one further way we have hopefully improved our service it will allow you to enter multiple events as well as entering other people – nice and simple and all in one place
