![]() Boardman Centre gets green light Posted on: Monday 19th December 2016 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment The Boardman Performance Centre takes a big step towards realityIt was just over a year ago that Boardman Bikes (www.boardmanbikes.com) announced plans for Performance Centre which would include a cycling-specific wind tunnel and more - and now, after much work behind the scenes, planning approval has been granted for a venture of which Chris Boardman himself says, "I don't think it's overly dramatic to say it will be revolutionary". BOARDMAN PERFORMANCE CENTRE PLANNING APPROVALBoardman Bikes are delighted to announce that planning approval has been granted for their new Performance Centre at The Valley retail park near Evesham in Worcestershire. Work will now commence on the new facility which will include the brands head office, a cycling specific wind tunnel, physiology testing suite, activity area as well as a concept store with cafeĢ to offer a unique and World Class customer experience for Cyclists and Triathletes of all levels, from Olympic, Paralympic and Tour De France Champions to Weekend Leisure riders. Based on the edge of the Cotswolds and surrounded by beautiful countryside, the facilities central location is perfect for easy access by road, rail and air making it not only a hub for all things Cycling in Worcestershire and the surrounding areas but also Internationally. Construction of the 18,000sqft site is anticipated to start in the Spring with a grand opening scheduled for Winter 2017. Chris Boardman said “This project has been a dream of mine for more than 6 years and I’m delighted the finishing line is now in sight. The possibilities for what The Centre can deliver are truly amazing; in fact I don’t think it’s overly dramatic to say it will be revolutionary.” Boardman Bikes Managing Director Andy Smallwood stated “It’s been a long time in the planning but following our close collaboration with Wychavon Council we are now ready to take the Performance Centre project from concept to reality. The combination of World Class facilities and unique customer experience will make the new site a true destination for Cyclists not just locally but from across the UK and Internationally. To say we are excited about this new chapter in the Boardman brands history is an understatement.” Further detailed information on the facility will be released over the coming months. ![]()
