Stirling, Scotland: Triathlon Training Paradise?

The Roberts Brothers think so...

Talented triathlon brothers, Fergus and Douglas Roberts ( are based in Stirling, Scotland, as part of the Triathlon Scotland Performance Centre. Having been there for three years now, they have put together a really great video which highlights some of the fantastic surroundings in which they get to train on a daily basis.

Some truly stunning scenery and great camera work (excellent work Iain Macintosh!), make this a must-watch. Perhaps next time you assume you need a warm-weather venue in Europe, actually, perhaps Scotland could be an alternative?

Not just brothers... a very talented family

We are well used to seeing talented siblings in triathlon. Of course, the best known right now are the Olympic Gold and Silver medal winning Brownlee brothers. But there are also Tom and David Bishop, Andreas and Michael Raelert and a few years back, Tim and Tony DeBoom - plus plenty more examples I could mention.

However, the Roberts' take it a step further, as off-road specialist Jessie Roberts is also the sister of Fergus and Douglas, and this year they have all won Scottish National Championship titles:

  • Fergus Roberts: Scottish Duathlon Champion
  • Douglas Roberts: Scottish Standard Distance Triathlon Champion
  • Jessie Roberts: Scottish Cross Triathlon Champion

Clearly, training in Scotland is working for them all!
