![]() British double at IRONMAN Vichy Posted on: Monday 29th August 2016 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Double British victory at IRONMAN Vichy 2016Harry Wiltshire and Catherine Faux earn their first IRONMAN titles in FranceA great day for British long distance triathlon in France on Sunday as British triathlon veteran (though still only 33), Harry Wiltshire won his first IRONMAN title in Vichy. Third previously at Ironman Malaysia (2015) and second at Ironman Japan (2014) the multi-talented Wiltshire has now completed his own podium set to become an Ironman Champion. The 2006 World University Triathlon Champion has had a long career in the sport - while also qualifying as a Barrister. A close race saw Wiltshire cross the line just 80 seconds clear of Tim Brydenbach (BEL) with Ivan Risti (ITA) only just over a minute further back in third. Wiltshire earns $5,000 for his efforts and gains 2000 early points towards Kona qualification for 2017. He's already assured of a Kona start this year The Cat is Back...Ironman Vichy represented the first professional race for Catherine Faux. You'll likely remember the name - I called her performance at the Ironman World Championships in 2013 "possibly the greatest female Age Group Ironman performance ever" (with good reason), and since then Cat has been completing her medical studies. Related Article: Catherine the Great(est)?Earlier this year she raced and won the Outlaw Half Holkham (report HERE) in fine style, as a warm up for her return to serious competition - this time around in the professional ranks. A win and $5,000 is not a bad way to start. This is just the start - you can expect a lot more from Catherine Faux over the coming years... IRONMAN Vichy - Sunday 28th August 2016
