Ryman and Pritchard take Triathlon England National Sprint Distance titles at Leeds Castle

The fourth of the six 2016 Triathlon England - National Championships took place in fine conditions today (Saturday) at the Leeds Castle Sprint Triathlon in Kent.

When the numbers were in from all of the wave starts, overall fastest on the day was Paul Ryman, just ten seconds ahead of Seb Garry (who is also about half of Paul's age!). Both are accomplished and successful GB Age-Group team members. Paul won ITU World Championship medals in both the Standard and Sprint distance events in Edmonton two years ago, while the youngster Seb (15-19 category), has already won both the European Duathlon (Kalkar) and Triathlon (Lisbon) Championships this year. Another regular on the podium, Carl Shaw, was third overall today.

Continuing the quality theme, fastest female overall was Amy Pritchard (Tri London), who won her category in the World Aquathlon Champs in Chicago last year (and her local Crystal Palace Triathlon recently). Second place went to Vikki Voysey (fourth recently in Lisbon) while third overall was Jill Cliff (Deal Tri), who we more regularly see in Ironman racing - recently second in her AG in Lanzarote.

Having announced James Phillips as our ERDINGER Athlete of the Month for May earlier this week, things didn't go well for the current British Sprint Distance Champion who was hoping to add the English title - he suffered a first race puncture...
