Lezyne Arundel Lido Triathlon - Sunday 29th May 2016
Arundel, West Sussex

Standard & Relay (800/37/9km) | Sprint Triathlon (400/19/5km)

Once again Arundel Lido was home for the Lezyne Triathlon and its stunning setting by the Medieval Castle and River Arun.

A breezy and chilly start soon gave way to blue skies and sunshine for competitors to enjoy the racing and it was Supervet Peter Younghusband from Petersfield Tri Club once again who showed his counterparts the way round the course for the second successive year with the fastest swim and bike split with an average bike speed of just under 40km and a total time of 1:48:08.

It was a close contest for the second and third places; East Grinstead Tri’s Noel Miles came in second with a time of 1:52:24, just one second ahead of David Reid, also from Petersfield Tri Club, who took third place in 1:52:25. Nick Onslow (Pedal on.co.uk) was 1st Vet and 1st Supervet went to Tuff Fitty’s John Mcgrath for the second time. Robert Weekes from PGS Triathon was first Junior in 2.05.46. The top seven places in the women’s race all went to Vet or Supervets and it was Claire Hitchings from Team Endurance who set the pace to win in 2:07:48 ahead of Jenny Philips 2:20:03 (Petersfield Tri Club) and Johanna Lovell from Portsmouth Triathletes in 2:22:36. Team Physio Fitness & Wellbeing won the Relay Triathlon.
