![]() Gill Fullen on form at Boston Marathon Posted on: Monday 18th April 2016 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Gill Fullen smashes three hours at 2016 Boston MarathonGill Fullen (Bedford Harriers) is without question one the best Age-Group multisport athletes in Great Britain. While she may turn 52 years of age in October this year, she's still getting faster. Currently World Champion in her category at both Ironman 70.3 (Zell am See) and Duathlon (Adelaide), she's also previously won the ITU World Long Distance Championships (Belfort, 2013), the ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon Championships (Zofingen, 2013) and the European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championships (Horst, 2014). When Gill races, you don't look at her category results, she's typically at or very close to the front of the field overall too. She's just done that in fine style, finishing in 2:53:32. That's an average pace of 6:37/mile or 4:07/km. She has also, provisionally, won the 50-54 category in Boston too. Another stunning effort from an athlete who continues to impress, year after year. One thing Gill has not got yet though is a Kona Age-Group win (she was fifth in 2014) - I suspect that will be on her 'hit list' at some point soon. If Gill Fullen set her mind to it, she usually achieves it. Chapeau! Gill Fullen (F50-54) - Boston Marathon 2016
