![]() Age-Group Gold at Winter Tri World Champs Posted on: Monday 15th February 2016 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Brit wins Age-Group Gold at Winter Triathlon World ChampionshipsLarge British teams attending practically every form of multisport championship, wherever they are in the world, is now the the norm, such is the strength of the British Triathlon Age Group programme. Given our climate, it is fair to say that the discipline of Winter Triathlon - which also falls under the governance of the ITU - is an outlier in that regard however. This past weekend the ITU Winter Triathlon World Championships took place in Zeltweg, Austria, featuring just two British entries in the run / mtb / ski discipline. Kerry McGawley, a sports performance physiologist, took the Gold medal in the F35-39 category, beating off the challenge of six Austrians and an Estonian in the process.
An experienced triathlete, Kerry has raced for the GB team several times previously, including a fifth place finish at the ITU Long Distance World Champs in Motala, Sweden, last year. Britain's other representative in Zeitweg was Keith Jenns (19th, M45-49). ![]()
