![]() Emma Pallant wins World Duathlon Champs Posted on: Saturday 17th October 2015 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Pallant and Dijkstra take World Championship titles in AustraliaFollowing in the footsteps of her coach, Michelle Dillon, who won the title in Australia ten years ago, Emma Pallant today took the Gold medal at the ITU World Duathlon Championships in Adelaide, Australia. With the lead group through the first run and bike leg, Pallant pulled away in fine style over the final 5km run for a clear 30 second margin of victory over Ai Ueda (JPN), with last years World Champion from Pontevedra, Sandra Levenez (FRA), taking thre Bronze. The Gold rush didn't stop there, as Ben Dijkstra, the Youth Olympic Games Champion last year won the Elite Junior event in similar style - pulling away over the final 2.5km run for a 12 second winning margin from the Aussie pairing of Luke Willian and Daniel Canala. Jimmy Kershaw, Great Britain's other entrant in the Junior race, took sixth place in 55:03. There was further Elite success for Great Britain in the Men' Elite race, with Mark Buckingham taking the Bronze medal to Spain's Emilo Martin and Benoit Nicolas (FRA). Philip Wylie, for so long our standout performer in Duathlon on the international stage, took seventh (1:50:23). Adelaide ITU World Duathlon Chmapionships, Saturday 17th October 2015
