Gold and Silver in 2014: Kienle and Hoffman are hungry once more

"Ready to take risks" and "fitter than last year", that's the confident pre-race chat from the Gold and Silver medal winners from the 2014 Ironman World Championship, Sebastian Kienle (GER) and Ben Hoffman (USA) respectively, ahead of Saturday's Ironman World Championship in Kona.

Having spoken to the pre-race favourite Jan Frodeno earlier in the week, Joanne Murphy (www.tritalkingsport.co.uk), chatted to the two men who beat him last year - the trio all now members of the Bahrain Endurance team.

After a difficult lead-in to the race last year, Sebastian has had no such problems this time around but does acknowledge the threat that his fellow German and good friend Jan Frodeno poses, "If he gets off the bike in front of me then I think there is no chance to beat him... I need to be aggressive on the bike, and to be at my best in all three disciplines". As for Hoffman, his expectations are much higher this year after tasting the podium for the first time, "I come here hunting the win instead of hoping to be maybe top-10. That's an exciting place to be." Check out both interviews below.

Sebastian Kienle - "I've nothing to lose... I'm ready to take the risks I need to win"

Ben Hoffman - "I feel like I'm fitter than last year"
