![]() British TT Champs Report Posted on: Friday 26th June 2015 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Yesterday afternoon (Thursday) saw the 2015 British Time Trial Championships held at Cadwell Park circuit, Lincolnshire, the course combining open roads with the motor racing circuit itself. Former Hour Record holder Alex Dowsett was in a class of his own to take the title, and equal the record of Stuart Dangerfield in winning his fourth National Champions jersey, having finished third last year to the Team Sky pairing of Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas. The women's event was won by Hayley Simmonds, the 2014 winner of the National 10 and National 50 Championships Matthew Bottrill - who we featured on the site this week, as he'll shortly be turning his attentions to swim/bike/run - finished in fourth, 29 seconds from a podium position, while we also noticed the familair triathlon names of twice Ironman UK winner Daniel Halksworth (18th, 1:08:06) and Daniel Bigham (19th, 1:08:14). After the race, Bottrill commented that while it will certainly be his last British TT Champs, he's not 'done' yet:
For Halksworth, his next race is the NatWest Island Games in Jersey on Sunday.
(** Men's course was a three-lap, 44.8km circuit, the women two-laps totalling 33.6km) ![]()
