Kevin Robinson reports in with a final update on the 2014 season from the UK National Triathlon League.

If you have any queries or corrections on the scoring etc, please direct them to: kevinrobinson@cambridge2.freeserve.co.uk.

Hello Leaguers,

Well, I thought I'd written my last update for 2014, but I was wrong!

There are nearly always minor corrections to be made, especially where decimal points are concerned, so yes, there have been a few of those. But one correction is of a more major order - and somewhat embarrassing to me - but I'm glad to say that once again the League got it right in the end.

The major correction is that we have a new winner, not Chris Nicoll as stated in my previous update. The winner is in fact Andy Thornton, like Chris Nicoll a member of the Derby Tri Club. So what brought about this rather important change? Andy was, of course, registered at the beginning of the season, but then through a mistake of mine, was not transferred to another list when he should have been. The consequence of this was that he went subterranean for the rest of the season, and only emerged, not so much like the ouslem bird to hurl shit and derision on his enemies, but with a rather polite enquiry as to why he hadn't been mentioned in my reports!

A full scale enquiry was then conducted and the truth revealed. With an excellent performance at Challenge Barcelona, backed up with a very good one at the Vitruvian, Andy had actually won the League Individual Championship. It's definitely a case of 'mea culpa', and while I'm very happy that it's now put right, I feel a little sorry for Chris Nicoll, who now places second in the Individual Championship, and first in the Duathlon Competition, and also for Chris Wood of Black Country Tri, who is now moved down to the depth of fourth place. Well, out of the twenty three who met the two event qualification for classification, that's not so bad after all, is it?

Andy Thornton's success does improve the Derby Tri team score, but not quite enough to enable Derby Tri to catch Tri London, although they went very close. Black Country Tri remain our 2014 Champions, with Tri London 2nd, and Derby Tri 3rd. The team and individual lists and scores are given below.
