Carfrae is still seeking success

Australia’s Mirinda Carfrae won her third Ironman World Championship in October this year following a thrilling race, where she overturned a deficit of more than 14 minutes at T2 to defend her title.

Carfrae is just one of many triathlon stars ready to take on the inaugural Challenge Bahrain on Saturday, and I took the opportunity to sit down and talk through her Kona performance, the ever-increasing standards in women’s long-distance racing, how her own season structure has changed in recent years and what her plans and motivations are for the future.
