The combination of incredible scenery and a course for all levels of ability will make this one of the most stunning and memorable courses on the triathlon circuit.

We are delighted to confirm the route for the Brownlee Tri South at Petworth House on Sunday 15 June 2014.

The first triathlon at Petworth House follows a very scenic route taking in the stunning surrounds of Petworth's Deer Park, the beautiful South Downs, and has a truly iconic finish.

Swim: Enter the Lake via the sloped bank and swim past the Grade II listed Boathouse. It's one 400m lap for the super-sprint and one longer 750m lap for the sprint, all overlooked by the iconic Petworth House.

Bike: Mount your bike and it's an 800m cycle through Petworth's Pleasure Grounds before exiting the Park to the east. Over the managed traffic crossing point and the bike route heads out into the scenic South Downs countryside. The route is predominantly free from traffic, with one lane closed on the A roads and traffic restrictions on the country lanes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable cycle for all. There are some gentle climbs and descents along the full stretch of the route. It's one lap for super-sprint and two laps for sprint. On completion of the laps it's back into the Park for a final 800m to Transition. The total distances are 16km for super-sprint and 29.5km for sprint.

*Please note that the Bike distances have increased slightly from those originally advertised following the route confirmation, which will provide an improved route for our participants

Run: A combination of grass paths and trails through the historic Deer Park. An undulating run around the Lake for the 2.5km super-sprint, and with an extended loop in the Park for the 5km sprint. Spot the Deer, watch the swimmers, and with views across the Entertainment Village to the House, it's a stunning run.

Finish: The final 300m passes through the Entertainment Village straight towards the House, before looping back to finish in front of the backdrop of the vast late 17th Century Mansion with spectators cheering you across the line. Collect your well-deserved finishers goodie bag with medal and t-shirt, and enjoy the Entertainment Village with friends and family.
