Jenson Button Trust announces full 2014 triathlon details plus all new Cancer Research UK Charity partnership
Luton Hoo - 12th July 2014

The Jenson Button Trust has today announced full details of its 2014 Triathlon, which will take place on Saturday July 12th. Held in the private estate grounds of the fabulous Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire, the event has something to offer everyone whether you are an experienced triathlete or just want the challenge of taking on the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and current McLaren Mercedes driver. The 2014 Triathlon will be held in support of Cancer Research UK.

Now in its third year, the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon is a truly unique event. It combines competition with a relaxed festival atmosphere; it has a true family feel with a buzzing event village, post-race party with prizes presented by Jenson, live music and a barbeque.

The 2014 event will give competitors the chance to race twice, with the preliminary heat consisting of a 300m lake swim, 9km bike ride and 2.5km run. The top performers will then go on to the final (750m swim, 15km bike ride, 5km run) and the runners up will enter the ‘wooden spoon' race.

The Trust is also proud to unveil an all-new charity partnership with Cancer Research UK. On the partnership Jenson said,

“Having Cancer Research UK as our new charity partner is fantastic, it will ensure that the 2014 Triathlon is the biggest and best yet. The research work carried out by Cancer Research UK into the prevention and treatment of cancer is of such importance. I am very proud that the Jenson Button Trust will do it's bit to raise as much money and awareness as possible.”

Jools Tait, Director of Partnerships, Cancer Research UK said,

“We are extremely excited about our new partnership with Jenson Button, his personal passion, and commitment reflects our determination to succeed in the fight against cancer. Today's announcement takes his commitment beyond the race track as the Jenson Button Trust pledges to help us beat cancer sooner. Through this partnership we can engage with Jenson's supporters to encourage them to help us bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Money raised from the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon will fund our pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.”
