The Castle Triathlon Series (www.castletriathlonseries.co.uk) has announced the additon of a full iron distance race to its 2014 calendar of events: The Bastion.

The event will take place in July 2014 (exact date to be confirmed on Monday 4th November) at Hever Castle, and will build upon the success of The Gauntlet, the half-iron distance race which made it's debut at the Hever Castle Triathlon last month (won by Tri247 regular Karl Alexander).

"The Bastion was the final stronghold of a fortification and represented the greatest challenge for anyone wishing to defeat it. Drawing on that analogy the Hever Bastion will be the ultimate test for long course triathletes in the UK."

The Castle Triathlon Series is offering a hefty prize pot of just under £10,000 for those bold enough to take on the Bastion challenge on top of the already large £20,000 annual Series prize offering.
