The biggest event of the weekend by far was the Virgin London Marathon, taking place just six days after the shocking events that took place at the finish of the Boston Marathon.

Full, extensive... well, HUGE (!) coverage of the event can be found on our sister site, www.run247.com, including elite reports (Men and Women), Mo Farah's drinks stop problems, celebrity galleries and results plus the full, pre-race 'London Calling' countdown and much more. Check out their Facebook page for more images.

Here are a few (email via [email protected] if we've missed any), triathlete-related names, past or present, who we've spotted towards the front end of the results lists in the 2013 edition. We sure we've missed a few, as do get in touch if you've spotted any we should add in.

MEN

Name Time Comment
Mark Couldwell 2:24:01 Age Group World Champ (Vancouver 2008) and many other Tri/Du wins, improved on his 2:27:42 from 2012
John Franklin 2:28:01 Was first GB Age Grouper at Kona in 2009 and won the 2011 Marshman. Might have paid for a 1:11:29 first half, but still improved by 30 seconds over his 2012 2:28:31
Hywel Davies 2:32:51 Despite injuries threatening his start to the race, Hywel describes his run as "my best performance at a running race ever... by a very long way". Hywel was ETU European Long Distance Champion in 2011 and has won over every distance from Sprint to Double Ironman... he was surely the fastest Hawaiian shirt of the day too - see picture below!
Danny Russell 2:34:57 Had a bike mechanical which impacted his race at the British Elite Duathlon Champs - but a good run in London
Paul Mountford 2:37:04 British Middle/Long Course Champion 2004 and 2006
Roger Barr 2:43:17 Roger has prepared for London with a 'streak' of running every day for well over a year now...and got the result to show for it.
Paul Lunn 2:43:28 Paul is a member of the Racetime Events Race Team.
Matt Molloy 2:55:16 A regular on the pages of Tri247, London this year was more of an Ironman training run for Matt
Euan Lees 2:57:33 A member of Ful-on Tri, Euan ran in Boston six days previously (2:59:03) and went slightly quicker in London... all as training for the Comrades Marathon (89km) in South Africa.
