![]() ITU LD Worlds: British, Irish Age Group medals Posted on: Monday 30th July 2012 Bookmark This | Print This Page | Send To A Friend | Post A Comment Sunday's ITU World Long Distance Triathlon Championships in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain saw an Elite Bronze medal for Jodie Swallow to add to her Gold from 2009. The titles went to Chris 'Macca' McCormack (AUS) and Caroline 'Xena' Steffen (SUI), as reported HERE. There was success also for British and Irish Age Groupers. Catherine Faux (winner of The Outlaw in 2011) was the fastest Age Grouper of the day, and adds World Gold to the European Gold she won last year in Finland. She was the fastest Age Group athlete that day too. Ireland's Matt Molloy continues to collect the Air Miles (!), and this time takes Silver in the M40-44. Having taken Bronze last year, Gold in 2013 perhaps? It's been a great year already for Matt, winning ETU European Champs in both Eilat (Standard) and Roth (Long Distance), and he still has the 70.3 World's and Kona on his schedule... A mention too for Tracy Cook - Gold in 40-44 for a name which may well have topped the results lists on Tri247 roundups more than any other name over the past five years!
